From Rock Bottom to InPower: My Journey of Rebuilding

Life has a way of testing you in ways you never see coming. One day you’re a professional, a wife, a mother, living your life as an expat in Geneva. The next, you’re standing in the middle of a hurricane, and the only thing you can do is try not to get swept away.

This is my story. It’s a story about hitting rock bottom and finding the strength to rebuild, piece by piece.

The Day the Floor Disappeared

My storm began with a separation, which is a difficult journey for anyone. But it became a full-blown crisis with a single email from my ex-husband. He informed me that this would be the last month he’d be paying the rent for my daughter and me.

The shock was immediate, but the terror set in when I contacted the housing agency. I discovered I wasn’t on the lease and that the rent was already two months overdue. In Geneva, that’s a critical situation. We were asked to leave by the end of the month. Suddenly, I was facing homelessness, buried in a cascade of official letters in a language I was still struggling to master, and my only priority was protecting my daughter from the chaos.

I felt like I was drowning. My career, my family life, my identity—everything I had built was falling apart. The hardest part was the internal pressure. I was trying to achieve my professional goals as a digital marketer at the same speed as before, but my reality had completely changed. I felt like I was failing on all fronts.

Learning to Breathe Again

I knew I couldn’t navigate this alone. I needed a guide, someone who could offer a safe space not just to talk about career strategy, but to help me untangle the immense pressure I was putting on myself.

That’s when I found Bruna Mathys.

Our work together wasn’t about finding a new job right away. It was about finding me again. Bruna helped me see that my old definition of success no longer served me. The toughest lesson was learning to be kind to myself, to give myself grace in a situation where my plans were changing by the minute. She helped me find an anchor in the chaos, focusing on what I could control: my own well-being.

A New Path, Forged in an Unexpected Way

I started running. It was my therapy, my way of moving forward. And as I started to heal, something incredible happened. My personal trainer, who saw my dedication, needed help with his international marketing. I saw an opportunity not just to help, but to rebuild.

We created a partnership: I offered my skills in digital marketing, photography, and translation for his course materials in exchange for him training me to become a certified personal trainer. It was a solution that honored my new priorities: health, flexibility, and purpose. It was a testament to the kindness of others and the power of creative thinking when you let go of how things should be.

That is why I created InPower — a space dedicated to helping women, especially mothers, reclaim their strength, confidence, and health. InPower is more than a personal training brand; it’s a community built on resilience, empowerment, and the belief that no matter how many times life knocks you down, you can rise stronger.

The Reality of Rebuilding

My life today is a masterclass in determination. There are no vacations. There are 5:00 AM mornings to work on marketing projects. There’s a constant juggle between my intensive French courses, being a mom to my daughter (and our dog and cats!), and completing the hours for my personal trainer certificate.

But for the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m the one steering. I’m building a new community, my French is improving, and I’m creating a stable, healthy environment for my daughter and me.

Thanks to Jeremy fisher from Association – cours prestations socio sportive, I had the chance to lead an @inpower_pt #InPower Circuit Training, surrounded by strong, kind, cool people who showed up with energy and heart.

I’m especially grateful to my mentors — David Deydier, France, Ruddy Longche, Thomas Portier , and Aron 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗙𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘  de Wellness Sport Club Suisse — for your guidance. Your strength and passion inspire me every day. I’m really looking forward to joining your sessions in the coming days and continuing to learn, apply, and grow with you.

Finding My Anchor

The journey isn’t over, but I’ve found my starting line. The person who helped me find that clarity and strength was my coach, Bruna Mathys.

If my story resonates with you, and you feel like you’re looking for your own anchor in a storm, I cannot recommend her guidance enough. She doesn’t just help you find a new career; she helps you find your way back to yourself.
